March 22 Meeting in Başkent University Bağlıca Campus 8.00 am.(minibus will pick up the group from the Hotel), arriving Gordion 9.00 am. Site tour with Billur Tekkök 9.00-10.00 am,
10.00-10.30 tea/coffee break, visit to the museum, tumulus.
12.00 Leaving Gordion
14.00-15.30 Lunch in an authentic house in Ankara Castle
15.30-18.00 Tour to the castle and free shopping
19.00-23.00 dinner
Transportation
From Esenboğa airport—you need to take the buses to the city HAVAS right outside the gates they run to the city every 30 mins. From the Havas Terminal in the city you can take a taxi to your Hotel which will cost about 15 YTL. (about 12 USD)
Accomodation
Your Hotel is in the heart of the city where the Parliment Building and main shopping centers are. There is public transportation from the Hotel area to other sections of the city. (Bus, underground) Metropol Hotel is a four star city hotel 30 km .to the airport and 10 mins.walk to the Campus Bus Transportation (see the MAP below). The hotel has wireless internet. Shopping
Main centers of shopping are Kızılay (your Hotel area), Tunalı (15 mins walk to your Hotel) and Ulus. (2 stops from Kızılay with the underground system) If you wish to shop for antiques or authentic souvenirs you need to go to Ulus-Castle area. Tunalı has small boutiques and nice coffee shops. Kızılay has variety of shops along the boulevard.
